I admit, I hastily read through the Favre quote in the previous post. I’ll also admit I have some lingering ill-will toward the guy. But what I took as Favre taking a fairly clear shot at the Pack by sort of making equivalent 1 year with the vikes to many years with the Pack, others are taking as Favre equating his time with the Vikes as having a sense of belonging kind of like the time he spent with the Pack. At the very least his wording is poor and I’ve trained myself to be suspect of how he words things. But I have to say, it’s also possible he’s not taking a shot at the Packers.
Either way, the bottom line is that the Vikes still have to deal with the waffling now. So we got that going for us, which is nice.

“Favre Takes Another Shot At Pack
Um..er..
“Possible Favre Not Taking A Shot At Pack”
Packers have a brilliant young QB on the cusp of greatness. The team will be a perennial contender hopefully garnering multiple championships..and you still parse every word Favre utters.
Ahimé!

Betrayal is a bitter pill to swallow.

Campbell
My wordsmithing devil’s advocate. So nice to see you again. I thought a nice Favre post would bring you back to the fold.

56Coop,
I never left. When the Geeks concentrate on just this great game and Packer machinations vis-a-vis improving the team via the draft etal, I find this site highly astute and informative.
It’s the remains of the day re Favre..and fruitless to continue pondering Brettspeak.

Campbell, surely you realize by now that Favre will always be discussed here (at least as long as he wears a football uniform). Nothing fruitless about it, it’s still great entertainment.
From the heart, I hope you weren’t on that ferry. (I think I remember you live in NY).

Re the S.I. Ferry..thanx for the good thoughts. Fortunately I was on my way with friends to Fenway for the Yanks/Sox Saturday performance of one of Dante’s Rings.
I could write a book. 🙂
But what a great old ballpark, even in the rain.

I think its pretty obvious its a shot at the Jets, if anybody.

Not so much a dig as it is the annual stage play to establish his super human qualities. It’s all ego feeding, his own.

The Vikings know he is coming back. Favre knows he is coming back. He doesn’t want to participate in the off-season work and the Vikings clearly don’t care. But, it just looks bad to the team/public/press if he refuses to participate in OTA’s or camp. He needs an excuse not to be there and his ‘not sure I want to play’ gambit of the last two seasons is wearing thin so ankle surgery takes it’s place as an excuse not to show up until August.

I don’t think Favre doesn’t like the Packers. He is supportive of his team he is getting the paycheck from.
I think he just likes to play in a place that wants him to play, as long as it is in the upper midwest region.
Favre was the quarterback when TT came and he right away got Aaron Rodgers. Then I thought that since Favre played in a different Packer team than what TT wanted, it seemed he wanted to phase out the old guy.
But Favre must like the feeling of playing football in the upper midwest region in fall and winter.
