Rooting for Detroit or Chicago tonight?

by

This question has been brought up a few times in the comments section. It’s a good question. Here’s why I’m pulling for Detroit:

  1.  I don’t hate Detroit yet. I hate the Bears and the Vikings, but not Detroit. (That may change if they play dirty against us – something they’ve been accused of doing.)
  2. They are good this year no doubt and I picked them to go to the playoffs, but I don’t see them as a huge threat to the Packers just yet. The Packers are still a much better overall team.
  3. The Bears are not good and they might as well duck out of the NFC North race sooner rather than later. They will then be less annoying. I have the Bears going 5-11 – something I still believe will happen.

What do you think?

Disliking the Bears is in my blood from my family’s tradition of being anti-bear. I couldn’t care less about Detroit. And the Vikings always seem to almost make it and then implode.
The bears were always legit so I’m against bears all the time.
Our season is complete when we beat the bears twice. The playoffs and superbowl are side notes.

As I said in the other post, I hope the Lions win in an ugly sloppy affair. Lions 6. Bears 3.

The Packers already have a lead on the Bears. They have a smaller margin of error with Detriot… as a result I’d like to see the Bears win.

It doesn’t matter if Detriot isn’t as good as their record. The Bears weren’t as good as their record last year, and still nearly got the Packers. Also it would be nice to win the division handily.

I’m not sure how I feel about this. On the one had, it would (seemingly) do the Packers the most good to have the Lions lose.

On the other hand, I’m not totally convinced the Bears won’t pull out some kind of turn-around, like they did last year around their bye-week.

On the gripping hand, how cool would it be to have the Thanksgiving Packers @ Lions game be a matchup of two unbeatens (especially, of course, assuming the Packers come out with a win)?

I guess, either way the game comes out, the Packers will still have to take care of their own business…

Would have to agree with the thought that the Lions play dirty…the same rep that the Falcons have and look what GB ended up doing to them. Glad the Bears lost…still dislike them more than the ViQueens and Lions although if the lions were not in our division they would be the feel good story of the year. As it is they are just another obstacle for GB to overcome (and I think they will)
