I know there are still 9-10 minutes left, but now is the time to take out the starters. Charles Woodson should not be on the field, nor should Collins, Barnett, Raji, etc. Driver and Jennings and Finley should sit – Clifton, Wells and Tausher too. Put in the back-ups now and give them some real game experience.

Thought Flynn looked pretty sharp. Fun to watch Jennings et. al. running around Lambeau slapping the fans hands – lots of joy in Packerland today.

i was convinced the season was over after Tampa- Im still very skeptical of their chances to get to the superbowl -next week will be interesting-neither team will “need” the win but momentum can sometimes be everything- look at what the Giants did a couple of years ago and in contrast look at New Orleans right now.

I don’t think the Packers will get to the SuperBowl, but the playoff experience can be one they’ll build on for next year and the years after that.

Holmgren has been away from GB for about 9 years now. I’d be curious to know how he knows so much about the GB FO and why Flynn? He wasn’t even here when Holmgre3n was here was he? I would think Dixon at Pitt. would be a better choice not to mention that Holmgren could probably bring out alot more in Quinn. Not doubting what you have heard by any means just curious why he would take aim at a team he has been away from for so long.

Don’t remember where I read it, but I think it is along the lines of what Dave says below . . . the link is through TT, who brought front office guys with him to Green Bay from Seattle, who were Holmgren guys etc…
I haven’t heard/read anything about Flynn specifically, that is pure speculation on my part, I just thought that if he is making progress in a way that those within the organization know more then those outside of it, if/when Holmgren takes some front office guys away from GB and promotes them in Cle., guys like Flynn who are under the radar might be targetted the way Hasslebeck was. I hope its not true, the depth in GB is one of the strengths of the team and I would hate to see Flynn leave if he can be a quality backup.

Actually, the top three guys in TT’s player personal department have spent time with Holmgren. Reggie McKenzie was in Green Bay for the entire Wolf/Holmgren tenure. John Schneider came with TT from Seattle. John Dorsey was Holmgren’s right hand guy for a year or two in Seattle. No idea if any of the three would get a promotion or would want to work under Holmgren again. Schneider is a young guy and might want a promotion and his name has been on a few short lists for GM of the Seahawks.

AZ has something to play for next Sun. GB does not. Expect GB to use backups as early as second quarter. Do not want to tip off Cardinals whom they may meet in playoffs. AZ win can move them up in playoff rankings giving them theoretically a weaker playoff team.

Dan & Ace…I think the Pack do indeed have something to play for. If i were them i would want to do everything in my power not to fall to the 6 seed. Also the Cards should know by kick-off if they still have a chance at a bye based on the results of the Vikes game and their approach could change significantly right before the game begins

TheChoj is on target. Cards chance at the bye needs Philly and Viking losses I recall. Cards can adjust after hearing scores. Not so sure 5 v 6 will be that significant–game will be away for Pack no matter what.
