Packers trade Matthews and Tramon for Patrick Peterson

Ok – not really. And it’s way past the trade deadline. But they should trade anyone Arizona wants for Patrick Peterson (except Rodgers). The guy reminds me of a young Charles Woodson – but even better. Read here to learn more about Peterson. He’s not only the best cornerback in the NFL right now, but he’s also a leader on the Cardinals defense – the kind of leader the Packers have been desperately lacking. This article is also a nice change of pace because as the author points out, it is a look at something positive about an NFL player. Nicely done Peterson.

Trading Matthews for anybody would leave a huge amount of dead money on the cap. Terrible idea.

I know you didn’t mean this seriously, but there’s no way the Cardinals would trade away Peterson (except maybe for someone like Rodgers). He’s one of the best players they’ve got, and a threat on all 3 phases of the game.

Also, for a guy that hasn’t been in the league 3 full years yet, I have to wonder how much of a leader he really is, or would be coming into a completely new situation.

I agree it would be great to get a veteran ball hawk guy as an addition to the defense, though. Maybe the Bucs would be willing to trade Revis?

Nice to dream that TT would trade or dive into FA to pick up a stud for secondary. He only did that early in his tenure in GB because he knew he needed a quick infusion of talent while he implemented his draft and develop philosophy. TT won’t deviate from his plan now.. Sad to say
