Last in the NFL in FG percentage. This is a growing concern. I believe Nate Kaeding is now available. I don’t mean to be overly dramatic here, but the fact is, Crosby has not had a great career. Starting in 2007, he has had 1 season with a FG percentage over 80% (2011). For a kicker that is simply not good. His career percentage is 78.7% – also not good. Kaeding’s lifetime percentage is 87%.

Wasn’t there a playoff game the Chargers lost a few years ago because Kaeding missed like 3 times? Yeah, lost to the Jets 17-14, in San Diego. Kaeding 0-for-3 on field goal tries (36, 57, 40).

Kaeding is still better. While he did have one bad playoff game, there is a big enough difference between Crosby’s lifetime percentage of 78% and Kaeding’s percentage of 87%. And I also don’t think too many would make the argument that Crosby is good in the clutch…

I agree that Crosby’s a below average kicker, but do remember that Kaeding was a warm weather kicker in San Diego. It’s a bit tougher to kick in Green Bay or Soldier’s Field late in the year.
