I wanted Carimi to keep falling to the Pack. Hate to say this about a Wisconsin boy, but I hope he has a poor NFL career! I’m not sure why he fell so far in this draft. Truth is, I think this was a smart pick by the Bears.

The Chicago Tribune says that Jerry Angelos wanted Carimi so badly that he was looking to trade up in order to get him. He was fearful that the Chiefs were going to grab him. The fact that Angelos was willing to trade up says a lot about how much both he and Mike Tice like Carimi. Angelos is loath to trade up and actually has a long history of trading down. He prefers quantity over the risk of high draft pick busts.

Apparently they agreed to trade with Baltimore. But Angelo didn’t confirm it with the league. And now Baltimore wants the 4th round pick they agreed to with Chicago.

Hate to say it – but that was a great pick.
I think we grabbed Sherrod to fight off the Lions D Line – now I think they may go with another OLB to get around Carimi from both sides.
