I know. I think Detroit is our only divisional opponent that isn’t freaking out right now. The comments are hilarious too. There are a fair number of rational people but then you have the fans who are convinced the Packers suck, Rodgers is overrated and their team is amazing and just got screwed.
I do agree with the Star Trib article in that you need to be careful how you celebrate around fans of other teams. If only not to invite bad karma on your team.
I was joking about the karma aspect. But I agree about the good manners. I don’t mind a little smack talk with Viking fans, but only with people I know won’t take it personally or go to far. There is being fans of rival teams and being jerks.
Yep, I have yet to call, text, or email any of my many friends who root for the Vikings or Bears and given the crap I took last year and after the first Bear’s game this year I would be more then justified with a little smack talk.
But, what’s the point? What can a Bear’s fan say at this point? We beat them twice on the way to a championship. What can we say about their QB that most of their fans haven’t said already.
Viking fan’s seem more despondent then normal. Never has the difference between them and their hated rival seemed so stark. We have a young star QB. They have a retired washed up jerk. We have one of the best organizations in the NFL and they have a owner who wants to move to L.A.. We have the best stadium experience in the NFL and they have a broken dome that nobody likes but are unwilling to build anything new. We have 13 championships. They have none.
I don’t think that article gets posted if the Vikingswin the super bowl. I live in Minneapolis, and i can say they are the most bandwagon fans in the NFL. They talk trash when they are good, and aren’t fans when they are bad.
Sit down, strib. I hope you guys get moved to LA. Then watch – within two years all minneapolis citizens will be packer fans.

Very good. I live in 49ers country, but my kids live in Bears and Patriots country. Good advice for all of us.

Now my friend Dick Karth passes on somewhat similar articles from the Chicago Tribune.

Karma? Nope – that false God won’t hunt. But good manners are always in vogue.

That’s not to say that Pack fans should talk trash. Just saying i don’t like where that article is coming from.
