AJ Hawk’s 40-time may be over 5.0

I don’t know about the rest of you, but that’s the second time Steven Jackson has come around the edge against Hawk and Hawk should have had an angle to make the play pretty much a non-play but instead gave up 5-8 yards simply because he’s not fast enough. He hasn’t played horribly overall today, but I’m wondering if lack of speed may help explain why he’s just not been worthy of the #5 overall pick.

I agree Andy and have thought for some time. He just looks a step slow all the time. He just looks to bulky up top and doesn’t move well. I remember a story this summer where the trainers were trying to keep him out of the weight room as he is quite the workout warrior. I wonder if he needs to slim up and get some speed back.

He also took some very bad angles on at least two plays that I saw.
