Jared Allen…revealing

Read here from Sam Farmer, LA Times. Of particular interest in this article are 2 things:

  1. Allen calls the Favre waiting game “annoying”. While he is certainly right, it is an interesting choice of words considering Favre is likely to join team any day now.
  2. Allen also offers up something most might overlook:  “It’s easier to play somebody you don’t like,” Allen said. “But it’s that thrill of playing somebody you do like. It’s awesome to hit them in the back of the head. Because then when you see them in the off-season, you can say, ‘Hey, remember when I tattooed your face to the ground.” —–   While most readers may have looked past this and passed it off as tough guy DE rhetoric, to me it supports the growing suspicion among many in the NFL that Allen is simply a dirty player. I wouldn’t bother writing this right now if he hadn’t had several questionable plays last year – and I wouldn’t write it if the NFL hadn’t also expressed concern about these questionable hits. I just think this is one of those loose/free-flow comments that end up revealing more about one’s character than one realizes.

allen is a douche. if he weren’t in the nfl, he’s the kind of guy that’d be slamming jagerbombs at noon and driving around endangering our children.

oh wait, no he does that too.

interesting post/story from someone followed by lots of blog bickering and namecalling, but followed up by someone confirming the story’s truth and accuracy. i guess allen feels like he can get away with this crap in idaho, away from all those city folk who hate drinkin’ and them minouritees sangin’ their talk-sangin bumpin music.

the guy who confirms this guy’s story said it happened june 5th. i’ve read numerous quotes from allen saying he hasn’t had a drink since his last dui.

    just glad he’s a queen.

Josh, Allen is just preping for his career in the WWE.

What an ass. But what can you expect from a guy who still thinks its funny to wear number 69

I am not a fan of Jared Allen and not just because he plays for the Vikings. Just from some of his comments, he seems to enjoy not just playing the game well but actually trying to hurt opponents. And IMO that crosses the line. Wanting to sack the opposing QB? That’s his job. Wanting to put your helmet smack in the middle of their spine? Not so okay in my book.

Well, Brett was suppose to announce his decision today. Is it back to the end of the month?

Bus Cooke said this today: “He just doesn’t feel ready yet. There are some things he’s still considering.”

A week before training camp and he doesn’t know yet. Wow.

Love this time of year, when they break it down position by position. You can feel that the season is getting closer and also how strong/weak we look in certain areas.

This fallacy is often used rhetorically, so that the question limits direct replies to those that serve the questioner’s agenda. ,
