Sorry you didn’t get the job Andy.

    This is pretty interesting:

I really like the ending comment that Nolan could coach better blindfolded than Sanders.

Looking at the years Nolan was DC in the past (1993-2004 for Giants, Redskins, Jets, and Ravens) is at least moderately encouraging.

Those teams had 7 winning seasons (4 losing), and 4 playoff appearances (though none made it past the divisional round).

OTOH, the 49ers’ were pretty bad the whole time he was HC…

Dave – I too noticed he had a fairly extensive DC coordinator resume. Interesting note re the success of the teams he coached. Overall, I’d have to say I would welcome Nolan and would be interested in getting a 3-4 look in there. My one concern is that he didn’t get the job done a head coach but I’m hoping that it may be more of just him not being HC material – and a better behind-the-scenes type coach. We’ll see.

Do you happen to have an e-mail address? Could you fire me a line at evanATmvn.com? Couldn’t find one on the site… Thanks.

  6. Chris Says:

Did he employ the 3-4 at all his previous teams? I wonder if he is a “3-4 or die” guy (as we don’t presently have the right personel set for a 3-4) or if he has been effective with 4-3 sets as well.

  7. Bill Walsh Says:

Press-Gazette is saying the same thing.

  8. Ron La Canne Says:

Off topic – – Jags was fired by BC today. Anyone think he’s calling MM about a job today?

  9. Bruce Johnson Says:

Darn, that was my question as to how close Jags is to MM?
