14-7 is not very good. My game key was simple Score Early-Score Often. Well it started good enough but by the end of the first quarter play calling was getting soft and the defense was getting loser. We now have a situation where Detriot goes into the locker room thinking they can win.

Well, maybe MM won’t try to run out the clock starting with the 3rd quarter kickoff. What ever happened to “Killer Instinct”?

  2. Ron La Canne Says:

Oh, let’s run it so we don’t taake any chances. Opppsssyyyy! Let’s hope the replay reverses!

  3. Ron La Canne Says:

And for something completely different. Wait no, it’s the same damn second half bullshit we’ve seen all year. Will somebody please kick some ass on this team? Maybe we need to break out the Pink TuTu uiniforms again.

  4. 56Coop Says:

My goodnes- it’s the 3rd quarter & we are tied with the Detroit F——G Lions. Unreal.

  5. 56Coop Says:

Holy CRap–Rothlesberger has been carted off the field, immonbilized on a stretcher–Say some prayers folks–Hate to see severe injuries on the field.

  6. Ron La Canne Says:

Yeah, that guy plays with everything he has all the time. No prima-dona he. A prayer is said for him now.

  7. Ron La Canne Says:

Just what is wrong with the Packers? You get a drive going and now you’re fiddling aound like little girls. Play Football.

  8. Ron La Canne Says:

FG instead of TD. Does this seem familiar?

  9. Cindy V Says:

I’m holding my breath on this game.

  10. Ron La Canne Says:

Make Sanders go away, PLEASE! I cannot believe what I’m seeing.

  11. Cindy V Says:

    The defense collapses again!!!!!

  12. Kozak Says:

Damn. I’m getting that sinking feeling again…..

  13. Cindy V Says:

Touchdown!!!! Can the defense hold now????

  14. Ron La Canne Says:

Thank you Kevin Smith, the only guy in the NFL with a wonderlick lower than Jermichael Finnley. Actually, I’ve got to give Finnely some kudos today. A couple o nice catches and a third that should have been an interference call.

  15. Cindy V Says:

I can breathe now. The game is over. It was closer than I wanted it to be. Now I’m watching Brett and the Jets.

  16. Ace Says:

Detroit–pathetic. Read non sports article by Matt Labash in Dec 29 Weekly Standard by going to Would not want to live there–Lions or no Lions. I applaud the Lions effort today. Limited talent, maximum effort. Kevin S. has a future but needs self control-without that penalty we could have been looking at another OT game (assuming Lions could have stopped GB). Rodgers is far better than any of us anticipated. Pack will be back.

Just read online that the Jets have fired Mangini. I wonder if that will play into Favre’s decision on his return next season. I watched the Jets-Dolphins game and it hurt to see Brett play so bad. As Hunt said in today’s paper, it sure makes the decision to go with Rodgers look good. Comments, gentlemen?

  18. Joe Says:

The last five games should have made it pretty clear that TT did the right thing with Rodgers. He may not have done it the right way; but he made the right choice.

Hopefully Farve will hang up his cleats. Great career that really needs to stop. He’s gonna get hurt. Don’t ya know Pennington is having a good laugh. It does need to be noted that for a guy to report to camp AFTER it has begun, totally learn a new system & have his team in the playoff hunt & on top of his division mid season says a lot about Brett’s abilities.

Here’s some food for thought. There is a clause in Bill Parcell’s contract that states if the current owner sells the Dolphins he can walk away with the balance of his $12,000,000 (Which is now $9,000,000.00) and be a “free agent”. The owner just negotiated a deal to sell 95% oif the organization to some body in Detroit. (Irony of Ironys, I think it’s a Ford exec.)

Anyone think it would be a smart move to remove Murphy and bring in the Big Tuna?

  20. bucky Says:

Right now there are two successful former D coordinators out on the streets looking for work: Eric Mangini and Romeo Crennel. I think either of these guys would be an improvement over the incumbent, and neither is likely to get picked up by anyone as a head coach. I think we ought to at least be talking to them.

  21. awhayes Says:

I definitely think we should consider bringing in Mangini. I think he is a smart coach who could help our defense. I do not think we should consider Crennel. I don’t think he’s been blessed with great defensive personnel, but I just don’t think he’s that good. He gets that washed over look on his face when things aren’t going right that says “I have no idea what to do next”. Mangini though could give us an injection of immediate creative energy that could transform our D.

Interesting though re Parcells. I too read that he will have the chance to walk away from his contract if he wants to. My guess is that he’ll stay there and that the new owners will want to keep him there after what they’ve done this year.

Joe, like your comment on Favre – Rodgers did show he is a high quality player and TT deserves some kudos for being so confident in the guy, even if he didn’t handle the whole Favre thing well.

  22. Trav Says:

Andy – I agree on Mangini (bring him in) and Crennel (It’s like Weekend at Bernie’s sometimes with him. It would not shock me to see Andrew McCarthy standing next to him holding him up on the sideline.).

The word on Mangini is that he is a hard nose coach that isn’t afraid to call out players. I think it would be an interesting dynamic for coaches that are sometimes loyal to a fault (see Sanders, Stock).

  23. Aaron Says:

Andy, just wondering when your post about T-Jax getting benched yesterday was coming…. 😉

  24. Aaron Says:

    – sorry – meant last week 🙂

  25. Ron La Canne Says:

A clone of Jim Johnson would do nicely as DC. Play kick ass defense at 59:59 and carry it through to 0:0. Romo still doesn’t know what hit him.
