For those of you dealing with the wet, heavy snow that has been falling last night and today in Wisconsin, I want to share a tip I learned recently that helps…a lot. Some of you may have already heard of this, and if so disregard (or, go ahead and read it and say to yourself “I’ve tried that and indeed, it does work”).
Anyway, before turning on the snowblower, take a can of Pam from the kitchen, yes Pam, possibly one of the weakest product-names out there. It would be like re-naming WD-40, Jeff. So, take the Pam and spray the inside of the chute of the snowblower. Again, this is helpful when it’s a wet/heavy snow (when snow is not too wet, no need for it).
My mother-in-law told me about this and I hadn’t tried it until this morning – the wettest snow we’ve had in a while. It worked like magic – and it also helped to lubricate the chute itself making it easier to change its direction.
