Read here for another take on the Favre situation. Again, I’m tired of disclaiming this all the time, but if it’s true, Favre’s explanation does seem possible. I still don’t think it’s appropriate to give info about your former team to a GM/coaches (especially after a bad divorce). He should have had the presence of mind to not divulge anything to Millen, if for no other reason than he should have been smart enough to realize that if this got back to the press in any way, it would blow up just like it has. But I also think it’s significant, again, if true, that Favre apparently didn’t call the Lions – they called him. At least then, we don’t run off with this impression that he’s just calling teams to give info because he’s pissed (which is what it sounded like initially).
For now, I’m ready to move on from all of this crap. Again, not happy about it though. What I remain most interested in w/re to Favre is what Leroy Butler could possibly be referring to when he says that there is more to come. This is the second time we’ve heard this ominous warning: remember the team hired Ari Fleischer to manage PR months ago for fear of what was to come.

I am interested in the Matt Millen friendship as well as the Butler comments. But this thing ended so nasty, nothing would really surprise me and I’m not going to get too worked up about it. There is a lot of emotion on both sides and everyone but Brett is trying to pretend it’s all business. Remember what endeared him to us in the first place, beyond winning, he was the every-man. He wore his heart on his sleeve. What else should we expect?

Actually not all turds are the same. Just to name a few, you got the cannon ball, the banana, hershey squirts, the corn ball, and Ryan Grant. They all come out at different speeds and smells. One for example comes out slow and smells of suckyness. All turds are unique! 😛

Farve’s legecy ended when he left GB. I don’t think he burnt his bridges, but he sure damaged them and its going to be a couple of years after he retires before we can celebrate his career in GB.

If it wasn’t true, why haven’ t the Lions said so instead of “no comment.” To me, those two words say it all. You know, Brett may think he’s hurting Ted Thompson when he gives information to Packer opponents, but he’s not. He’s hurting his former teammates who helped him get all those records.

Cindy, the Lions *did* deny it through their COO Tom Lewand. I don’t see how Marinelli’s “no comment” can possibly be interpreted as an admission of guilt. He can’t speak for Matt Millen, who is no longer with the team. His response was the only thing he could say that wouldn’t invite further questions. He simply wants absolutely no part of this pissing match between the Packers and Favre. Can’t say that I blame him for that.
