If they don’t make something happen. The defense needs to get a turnover here or the offense needs a successful back-breaking deep pass. We’ve been so conservative and tentative today and it starts with coaching. Come on – bust this game open.
But I am troubled by McCarthy’s tendency to play down to the level of crappier teams. It’s like he has too much respect for certain other coaches or something. But we are being outcoached in this game and that’s the only reason this is still close. The Vikings have considerably less talent than the Packers.
He keeps running especially on first down when mixing that up would be smarter. I know he wanted to try to establish the run but we need to pull away and we are better passing team than running team. Let’s make some smarter calls throwing the ball starting now.
I think Capers is trying to work him in more and more lately. I think Perry’s absence also is allowing him to get into the game but he looks good (and has looked good on special teams too). I think he could be a tough player for us someday.
But it’s the playcalling and coaching that is keeping them in this. Hate to say it but noted this in my game preview – thought they’d keep it close in the first half and they have.
Wow. Just to have the knowledge that Rodgers was hanging out way over there.
Seems like a poor call again. Come on.
I know he’s young and this is somewhat common for younger guys but he is fairly inconsistent. He’s played poorly thus far today but just had a really nice pick there. Not a good throw by Bridgewater.
We seem rusty and the playcalling has been iffy. We need to work the short passes and get a screen in there. They are rushing super aggressively and Lacy has been too slow to make them pay. A screen would upset that some.
Vikings making the right playcalls and two smart calls in particular by going for it on 4th down twice. Smart. It’s a bit frustrating that for the first time in a long time, there isn’t an incompetent coach on the Vikings’ sideline.
