Seems like an injury release to me. He was a marginal starter going into this season and he couldn’t run at his physical. I don’t think the Packers wanted to risk guaranteeing his $1million+ salary with a camp injury or re-injury.
What an important role player he has been for the Packers though. Maybe not a key cog but a starting contributor that helped the Packer’s bring home the Lombardi trophy. I hope he gets healthy and lands with another team.
I agree he helped out in the Super Bowl. I just hope wherever he ends up he learns to use his arms when he tackles. Actually the same could be said for several of our defensive players. I would imagine McCarthy & Capers might incorporate a few “live” tackling drills in training camp this year.
