five-year $28 million contract that includes $8 million of guaranteed money and $14 million over the first two years.

$7 million per year for the first two years. With the cap, it would have definitely prevented TT from extending another player who is in their contract year. Sitton, Finely, Jordy, etc...

It seems to me that Daryn Colledge was always pissy about competition in camp. Like he was upset he had to beat someone else to keep his job. He wasn't a cancer in the locker room, but his attitude left something to be desired. I wish him well in Arizonia. He'll get the money he wants there, but he won't get another Super Bowl ring.

Not a surprise. Colledge was a average to good player on a line that played well down the Super Bowl stretch. His value will be higher to a club that did not live with him for his entire career. After all he was supposed to be a tackle.

I hate to let a serviceable offensive lineman go. MM and TT have had more trouble finding the right combination of o-lineman then anything else on the roster. It wasn't too long ago they were trying to fit Barbre into RT before Tauscher saved their season. Bottom line is that Colledge got it done last year and you hate to see that walk out the door. It all comes down to value I guess. LIke to keep him but not at any price....

Colledge's agent today said that many would be surprised by the numbers but it was in the same ballpark as what they were asking from the Packers. It seems then that the Packers and Colledge at least had conversations on what it would take to extend Colledge but they just weren't in the same ballpark to even seriously consider hammering out a deal.
