We’ve all been plenty critical of Mike McCarthy, but let’s call a spade a spade here – McCarthy has been very good tonight. Let’s keep up the inspired coaching and playing fellas!

McCarthy coaching a game tonight folks
December 19, 2010Nice play action call there to Nance
December 19, 2010And good block by Quinn Johnson to keep Flynn on his feet there.
Was Jones just pushed out of the way there
December 19, 2010Don’t have access to DVR right now but I’m wondering how the NE guy got position there – looked a bit like he just bumped him out of the way.
Nice hole there for Jackson
December 19, 2010Interesting we haven’t seen Starks at all tonight.
McCarthy has to balance himself here
December 19, 2010At halftime, McCarthy has to strike the right balance between complimenting his guys and being excited for them because of a half well-executed – but he also has to stress that the job isn’t done yet. A bad coach just acts like he’s not satisfied yet, but deep down feels like the mere fact that this has been a game when most thought it wouldn’t be one is enough. A good coach keeps doing stuff that works and improves upon those things that aren’t working.
Can McCarthy pull this off? Right now, this is a very rare moment for me because I can say McCarthy (and Capers) have outcoached Bill Belichick.
Pathetic special teams play
December 19, 2010That’s really unlucky. I am ticked about it, but I can’t blame guys hugely for that. That’s just Patriot luck.
Flynn best QB in the NFL
December 19, 2010Wow – great drive there. We ate up a bunch of clock time, completed key 3rd downs and Flynn had a beauty to Jennings for a TD.
Gotta feel good so far but we can’t let up. Let’s see if McCarthy is willing to be aggressive going forward here.
Right now – the Packers deserve to win
December 19, 2010Great play by Kuhn there. Now let’s punch this in.
We are using the run to waste time
December 19, 2010We might as well just have Flynn back up and kneel down. The good thing though is that Flynn has been completing some nice passes to keep drives alive. And we’ve been out-possessing NE.
Collinsworth is way off tonight, weird
December 19, 2010That was very obviously helmet-to-helmet. At least Collinsworth does admit he’s wrong when he’s wrong.
