I just don’t think they guy is that smart. He puts the ball at risk fighting for 4 inches.

schaef – where you’re off is that my technique IS addressing the problem – just doing it in a more useful way psychologically. further, an anonymous source just called to tell me that what happened with Green is that a coach ended up telling him after his worst fumbling season to “not fumble so much” and Green listened, fumbling far less the next year. this source just called after he saw this post. seriously.

Schafer – the real cure to Greens fumbling was when he switched from the rubber elbow sleeves that got slippery when wet to the fabric (cotton?) traditional elbow pads that did not get slippery when wet.

I disagree AWH…remember Ahman had a fumble “problem” – then the Pack put him through a bunch of technique drills about holding the ball higher and tighter when he ran and he turned into a dominant force.

not sure about the “carry the ball everywhere” type of drill, but addressing the problem seems better than saying “don’t fumble”

All this positive press freaks me out. I hope the Pack lives up to it, but its a lot to ask a very young team……

and I hope AP gets that fumble bug again. If so, the Vikes may struggle to get 7 wins.
