I love seeing that. I love it. Great run, nice call on the run, but most impressive to me was that Grant outran Tyrone Carter – Carter had the angle on that big-time and Grant just ran right around him using nothing but speed.

Why is Hawk even in on 3rd downs

Hawk cannot cover well at all. He shouldn’t even be in games in those situations.

Greene is right, massive holding on Pitt

Good thing we still sacked Roeth there, the hold against Jenkins was so obvious it was shocking  they didn’t call it.

defense is getting used today

Our defense looks weak today. We’ve given up a bunch of screens and dump off passes to Pitt. Glad that penalty was called erasing Mendenhall’s TD.

Wallace had total control of that ball, took 3 steps with it and Bigby knocked it loose. That is terrible. That would have been a big turnover for us.

Meltdown at the end of the first half there – but we’re OK

Too bad – we were seriously outplayed and it would have been nice to be tied at half. Still, we’re just down 7 and this game isn’t over. -

Meanwhile, Desmond Bishop has a great tackle and had half that Clay Matthews sack/fumble. Ok, I can admit Hawk has been decent lately, but I still think Hawk’s talent level doesn’t even approach Bishop’s.

I sort of think that may have been the play call. Pitt was deep in coverage with all of our WRs/TEs going out for passes it left a big space in between the line of scrimmage and the end zone. If that was called intentionally, phenomenal. If that was just recognized mid-play by Rodgers, phenomenal.

When the stop route to Jennings worked for the first time, I love the call to do it again. Gay can’t stay with Jennings. I still want to run some, but one thing I will allow is that McCarthy probably really likes some mismatches in with the Pitt secondary. Let’s get a TD here.
