If the Packers win both they are in.

If the Packers win one then Dallas and Giants both have to win out for the Packers to miss the playoffs.

The Philly game matters only in the sense that if they win this weekend it forces the Vikings to beat the Giants or risk losing #2 seed. A Philly win also makes it more likely the Cardinals take week 17 off.

Go Carolina! Go Bears! Go Philly! Go Packers!

Simple solution - win next week. There is no excuse not to! Interesting stat from MM - 12 plays acccounted for 326 yds of offense for the Steelers. He feels the problem is technical and can be corrected. I hope this isn't this years' "pad levels".

Trav's right...if we lose to Seattle we should pull out the golf clubs and head south. However, we won't lose and we'll be 10-5. Based on what I'm watching tonight, NYG will be 8-6 in about 1.5 hours. Dallas will beat Washington next week I expect, taking them to 10-5 too. NYG at home to Carolina? Well, NYG SHOULD win that one to go 9-6.

That sets up a very interesting Week 17. The Giants will be going to Minnesota looking for the win to keep the pressure on Dallas and Green Bay. Dallas will be hosting Philadelphia who will be looking to win to perhaps knock Minnesota out of the 2nd Bye position (assuming they have beaten Denver in Week 16).

Green Bay will be in Arizona facing a team that will be resting players having clinched already and with nothing to play for (and unwilling to show their hand to their likely 1st Round foes).

I think Minnesota might actually be in a position to help Green Bay in Week 17 by fighting for the Bye and holding off the Giants. Philadelphia are going to fight Dallas tooth and nail too.

Green Bay should qualify for the playoffs comfortably given the scenario above. If not, they wil have only themselves to blame.

So, next week while you root the Packers on to a crushing victory, spare a cheer for Philly against Denver; Carolina at New York, and Washington at home to Dallas. And if things don't work out in Week 16, get ready for a wild Week 17!

It is my understanding that Packers will get in if the Giants lose tonight (@Wash) because...

Packers have tiebreaker over Giants (Divisional record) if both 9-7
Packers have tiebreaker over Atlanta (Divisional record) if both 9-7

any holes in this?

"He needs to do a better job of making that key field goal." Well, no crap. The problem is that (for whatever reason) he can't do it.
