I have to admit, as a vikings fan, i hated Farve for years (will always hate the Packers!!). The guy has a way of creating a “spark” for our team and has been (and will continue to be) the main reason we are super bowl contenders this year. I have definetly drank all of the purple koolaid and am waiting for the big let down (hey, i did say i was a vikings fan so what do you expect). Looking from the outside in, the “spark” is what you are missing, don’t ever kid yourselves, Aaron Rogers will never be that guy (no matter how good his stats are).

Someone on here, way back, had the idea of total silence except for a few crickets chirping over the PA. An empty rocking chair on the Jumbotron would be nice too.

FOX has just announced they are going to have a Favre cam at the game. It will be on him from the time he enters the stadium until he runs into the locker room. God I hope GB wins this game.

I’m not torn about the Vikings or Favre: I want the Packers to win, and the Vikings to lose, and not just this week, but every week. My purely-sports hatred for the Vikings dates back to Fran Tarkenton managing yet another mind-bendingly frustrating escape from Willie Davis’ clutches.

Favre turned around the GB franchise in the 90′s, along with Wolf, Holmgren, Reggie White and the rest, and he will always be a GBP legend, but right now, these last few years, he’s just another player on the enemy’s team.

I used to love the guy, but it seemed clear that he was running out of gas at the end of the last few seasons, dating back 3-4 years, and I cheered the move to Rodgers for the team’s sake. Fifteen years from now I will probably love him again, once all this foolishness is forgotten.

I agree. I’ve said it a lot, but I’m not mad at Favre for wanting to play. My issue has been his antics off the field. The guy still is very talented but he’s acting like a jerk. And I don’t find jerks worthy of respect regardless of how well they can throw a football.
