I think some older players would be good (provided they actually play well as oppossed to Clifton’s pentalites). Rodgers obviously was helped by being able to learn from Favre and I think the same could be said for a lot of other positions. Green was a pretty good back for us and he might be able to help Grant and Jackson step up their game a bit, even if just by helping them learn what to look for.

Problem with Tauscher, is can he stay healthy–same problem with Clifton. Someone brought up the point about going “back to the future”. Not sure that this is going to change anything.

I’m neutral on the Green signing. I do hope he gets a chance to get the 46 yards as long as he hangs on to the ball.

I find it hard to believe that there are not younger players available but I’m hoping you guys are right about the older player/mentor thing. I’ve stopped trying to figure out TT’s logic–if there is any.

Cleveland players phoning in bomb threats–funny Joshy, funny. Hope Packerbelle’s right about the contagion–maybe the Pack should play with those little doctor mask things this weekend.

Boy, I sure am doing a lot of hoping.

Batman Returns! I like the addition of Ahman Green in the backfield. While the Packers are a young team, veterans like Green can add much needed perspective. Bringing back Tauscher, also an “older” player may bring some stability to the O-line.

I don’t think TT has had some awakening to the value of seasoned vets. I think he needed a right tackle and a running back. I’m sure being “packer people” was a positive for Taucsh and Green but no way TT passes on superior younger talent because these older guys can provide ‘leadership’.

I think the Tauscher and Green signings are indicative of Ted realizing (a little too late in his tenure) that some veteran guys, even of subpar physical prowess, are worth having around for their ability to provide leadership for all of the tender hatchlings in tow.

Not sure that Ted realized the value of these guys until it become excruciatingly obvious that his squad may be headed for 6-10 once again.

would anyone be surprised if locusts started swarming on cleveland’s training facilities? that team is what colin cowherd would refer to as a ‘dumpster fire.’ i’m surprised there aren’t players calling in bomb threats so they don’t have to come to practice.

that said, if we don’t absolutely mop the floor with them, we’ve got bigger problems than i thought.

Per Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, roughly a dozen players have it. As a result, coach Eric Mangini said that Wednesday’s practice will be scaled back.

The affected players include Jerome Harrison, Alex Mack, Anthony Madison, Brodney Pool, Shaun Rogers, Robert Royal, Lawrence Vickers, Corey Williams, and Kamerion Wimbley.
