I’ve heard a few great stories about Donald Drive from the guys that own stores around Lambeau Field. In particular there was a young boy who traveled with his father to watch Driver practice. The boy was sick with some kind of cancer and it was his wish to see Donald Driver in person. Well, the boy and his dad got to Green Bay and missed the practice. The store owner called Driver on the phone and Driver asked if the kid could come back to the store later. The kid and his dad said sure. Later, at the store, the kid and his dad are there and in walks Driver. He takes the kid into the owner’s office for a private chat. That chat lasted 1.5 hours! As he leave the store, Driver gives the kid’s dad two tickets to the game on Sunday. The store owner told me that Donal Driver “get it.” Not only does he “get” the adoration from being a Packer, but he “gets” it in that he knows how to give back to others. Honor the man when he breaks the record.

okay, i’m doing it again, but i couldn’t help myself — awesome name alert – from an espn article on the gaines adams trade:

reminds me of a time in high school when i heard the office secretary call over the loudspeaker – “will Deejaque Boombastik please report to the main office.” obviously some sort of joke, but i still laughed out loud and looked around, realizing no one else had noticed the name.

perhaps the classiest packer i will ever live to see play – and that’s saying something. it is an honor to root for that guy, and it doesn’t hurt that he still jukes db’s ten years younger out of their jock with ease about once per game. congrats donald in advance.

on a side note (i know, i do this too often) did anyone see this article yet on raji?
