I think that’s very well put Packerbelle. Campbell, that’s a good question. I truly wish someone else (who is as competitve as everyone seems to think the Vikes will be with Favre)would show some interest in him so we could see if his interests were really about playing or revenge. At this point I am really starting to hope he does sign with the Vikes and the Pack gets their two shots at him and he gets his two shots at the Pack.

But PackerBelle, in retrospect, wasn’t the Greta Van Susteren interview hilarious in its inappropriateness and irrelevance to all things newsworthy? I recall a DEADSPIN headline that read “Why Is Brett Favre Talking to This Woman”?

The Favre amuses me now. I no longer have contempt for The Favre. I wait for The Favre’s next move.

I personally wouldn’t care if he went to a team that the Packers were not going to play. While I think he needs to make up his mind already I can’t fault him for wanting to play. It is his desire to basically stick it to the Packers that has caused me to lose respect for him. Had he come back last year and said ‘I know you guys moved on but I want to play. Can we try to find something that will work for all of us?” I would have supported him. Coming in, demanding his release and basically airing his grievances in the media was what soured me on him, not wanting to play.

You’re correct, once the ota’s, mini and training camp starts, Favre’s name won’t be mentioned.

Campbell–What would you like to talk about? Packers Family night or how about that exciting Packer Fan Tour. Unfortunately the Packers are not very exciting during the middle of the off season and from what I can gather are an exremely quiet & private organization. Lucky for us we’re not discussing one of our players getting arrested for exposing himself on the street (Bills), guns or drugs. When we start hearing about how Raji’s doing, how the 3-4 conversion is coming, how Rodger’s shoulder is feeling, etc. I am sure it will be discussed in great length & detail. In the meantime I feel there is legitimacy in discussing the Favre situation and people have a right to their opinions, as do you. As far as I’m concerned I’m to the point to where I say bring him on and let’s put his ass on the ground.

Favre did a lot for Green Bay, absolutely, and vice versa. Obviously he is considering playing for the Vikes very seriously or he would say “I’m retired & I’m staying retired”. Hopefully that statement will come soon. If Kozak is right & he’s just trying to skip OTA’s & camps I’m afraid his 40 year old ass is going to suffer a much more serious injury and I do not want to see that happen to him–unless he puts on a purple uniform—-

Now, according to sources, they are saying surgery is not coming soon. I am sure when a reporter called and asked Bus Cook, he said something to the effect of “Brett is riding his tractor and I don’t know anything about him contacting Dr. Andrews”. That’s about all we are missing from these 2 different sides of the story.

On the brighter side. I think a lot of this is Favre stalling enough to avoid having to go to the minicamps, and maybe even the training camp. He wants his cake and to eat it too ( play but not prepare ). The man is 39 going on 40 with a bum throwing shoulder. This is not a young 25 year old in his prime here. Ask anyone who has had a major shoulder arthroscopy, they hurt like a b#tch and you need a lot of rehab. He may go through all this, F up the Vikings organization ( ask the Jets how much they enjoyed their teammate) and still fall flat on his face.

but really, the fact that the vikings are the only team that could convince him to have this surgery is depressing – because it means this is about revenge. and that cements some pretty unfavorable traits about favre.

and the line of reasoning that the vikings give favre the best chance to win a superbowl is a pile of swampy brown excrement. it should mean something that there are few teams that want him – even teams in need of a qb. i realize the vikings have talent, but they have a poor excuse for a coach and … well.. they’re the vikings.

you don’t have major shoulder surgery to help you mow the lawn. not when you use an electric start ride-on.

it is a bit disappointing though – if he was coming back as a purple what-have-you, i was hoping he’d skip surgery and try to come back half-assedly – you can’t half-ass rehab, so he’ll be in shape. 39-year old shape, but still.

he is indeed now the enemy. the big purple, crybaby, coach-killing enemy. enjoy, mn.

I’ll get upset when he actually signs with the Vikings.

You’re all bleating about what you gave him. Does that mean he gave you nothing? All I hear is how greatly improved the Packers defense is and how Rodgers is a top 5 QB and will be even better this year..and all you discuss is Favre. He seems to be the only thing that animates this place, and once again without even trying, he takes the spotlight away from the team.

He wants to play..let him play. It won’t be dull!
