Shhh..the cops are here – party’s over in Kansas City

by

Does anyone care that Brodie Croyle and Damon Huard have both just been put on IR? It’s an incredible thing really when the #1 and #2 QBs for your team go down for the year and you’re QB situation hasn’t taken a hit at all. Tyler Thigpen, the lucky heir will take over and be awful for sure. But the really interesting thing is that the street veteran they just brought in (Quinn Gray) could very well outplay Croyle, Huard and Thigpen. That is really bad coaching and management to keep 3 weak, weak QBs on the roster like that.

If I were a Chiefs’ fan, I would be so ticked off at management, not just because of the QB situation but because of the entire state of affairs there. I’d be wondering about why we wouldn’t have done Tony Gonzalez the favor of letting him hitch up with another team to end a solid career (in exchange for some nice draft picks to rebuild the team). I’d be wondering why we continue to deal with L.J. and his attitude and behavior and why we didn’t trade him when he had value (…and get some nice draft picks to rebuild the team). I’d be wondering about how the GM Carl Peterson keeps his job. I’d be wondering about how the coach can keep his job. I’d be wondering how I ended up in Kansas City in the first place.

Lived in KC for years, and my complete distaste for the Chiefs is based solely on their fans. Now, granted, i realize that i am spoiled a bit being a packer fan and season ticket holder, but the ‘chefs’ lose one game and people are turning in their season tickets..its absurd!
I used to revel in each game they lost because i knew so many chiefs fans, but the situation there is no longer good for the nfl as a whole

Read your site everyday, packergeeks. Don’t comment at all, but I do read it all the time. Have to say it, but I think you’re giving too much attention to the whole Favre story. Check your posts on the front page. 9 out of 11 are about a player who no longer plays for the Packers. I know it’s Brett Favre and I know it’s something to talk about during the bye week, but I don’t really think the majority of Packer fans even care about the situation. I don’t. Let’s get back to Packer talk, not Brett talk.

With that said, keep up the good work. Your blog is one of my Packer favorites.

The Choj – good point re the NFL, I do think their situation is bad for the NFL.

Actually agree with you Jeremy re overposting Favre stuff. I didn’t even feel like putting up a couple of the last few posts on the matter. That said, the fact is, judging by traffic to our site, people do seem to care about it.

Fortunately, it seems like the issue has played itself out and now we can focus on other stuff.

i understand also that this thing isn’t what we want to be talking about, but i’m actually a little annoyed at the fact that favre is getting a complete pass by espn, etc. i think it’s pretty obvious as to why, and it has nothing to do with any ‘high-road.’ i think it’s ‘dying down’ because lots of people are missing the point, and they don’t feel like admitting brett’s indeniable jackass-ness-ity-tion. and because ‘they’ didn’t break the story, or cover it in the early stages.

also, in a bye week, this is worthy fodder. packer fans really seem to be pretty upset about it, myself included – and all the packers are taking much-needed, LONG naps (hopefully).

so as much as i am ready to move on as well, and a lot of the rest of you probably were a week ago, i just feel like i needed to say that “I DO mind, the Dude minds. This will not stand, ya know, this aggression will not stand, man.” he peed on our f-ing rug.

    Thanks for the explantion, aw.

As for joshywoshy…incredible reference to The Big Lebowski. That movie, along with its many great quotes, will never get old.

THEY’RE GONNA KILL THAT POOOOOOR WOMAN.
