Pacman Jones Suspended — Kudos to Goodell

by

Via Chris Mortensen comes news that Pacman Jones has been suspended indefinitely, and at least for four weeks.  Good.

After getting a fifteenth second-chance — making Pacman Jones something like North Korea — (Ed: Sorry, it’s true) Jones may actually have to face the consequences of his idiocy.  The guy is a disgrace and the fact that he was on the field at all this year is an embarassment to the NFL.

Almost as bad are the actions of Jerry Jones in this who, having made a dumb investment in a repeat criminal, has been speaking out publicly in defense of Pacman.  I heard a clip of Jones on Sirius NFL Radio this morning saying that it was no big deal, that Pacman’s bodyguards had gotten into a little fight at a nightclub, that we all make mistakes.  What a moron.  His leaderless team is falling apart and I’m going to enjoy watching every minute of it.

Here, at least, we are in complete agreement.

    How ’bout them convicts?

It just seems to me that Pacman isn’t even making an effort. I could understand if the guy truly was an alcoholic or junkie and a large part of his struggles revolved around addiction, but that argument has never really been made by him or any of his supporters. Pacman either is completely unable to alter his behavior or he doesn’t feel that he needs to. Jerry Jones is, to put it frankly, a despicable human being. It does seem like Cowboys are in a free fall. All I can say is good riddance!

I didn’t think Roger had it in him to suspend Jones. I was sure that when Jerry Jones came out and tried to downplay the whole incident, that Roger would give some canned statement about the NFL investigating and not finding anything wrong. The police were called…obviously it wasn’t a small verbal disagreement, or however Jerry Jones tried to portray it.

Jerry Jones (Owner/GM) need for a starting CB on Sunday overrides the obvious fact that Pacman is a total idiot thug who just can’t be controlled even with bodyguards or baby-sitters or whatever you want to call them.

Jerry Jones is an ass. Period. He’d have a convicted murderer play for him if he thought it would get him a win.

  7. Scott W Says:

As Pacman demonstrates, breath-taking arrogance and stupidity make for a bad combination.

I don’t know, the Packers have had their share of criminals over the years, including an accused drug dealer currently starting at defensive tackle.

Anyone who’s been following the PFT Turd Watch knows that the Cowboys have been nowhere near the worst team in this regard.
