Interesting poll from the Wisconsin Policy Research Institute, via JS Online’s blog. Forty-seven percent of Wisconsinites surveyed have a favorable view of Favre and 34 percent do not. That’s a precipitous drop from December, when Favre’s fav/unfav was 73/7.
The second finding, though, strikes me as meaningless because the pollsters asked the wrong question. The question: “Who do you think is most concerned about the long-term future of the Green Bay Packers – Brett Favre and his supporters, or general manager Ted Thompson and his coach, Mike McCarthy?”
It’s fair to describe me as more sympathetic to the Packers position at this point than Favre’s. But this is a loaded question that seems designed to elicit responses favorable to the team. The better question would have been: “Who do you believe is more at fault for the disagreements between Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers — Favre or the Packers?”

This is a pretty schizophrenic poll. I guess it describes the situation quite well. What I’m amazed at is they take polls of this crap… and have historical poll data. After reviewing the numbers, what I gather is that 20 – 25% of Wisconsin residents (who are likely voters in the Nov presidential election) don’t give a sh*t.

While I agree that the wording on the second question wasn’t perfect I think your question doesn’t ask the same thing. The question asked seemed to be wondering who was more concerned about the team whereas your question was asking for fault. You can be at fault and still be concerned about the team.
