Fans just need to shill out about contract negotiations. Does anyone seriously doubt that the deal will get done? Anyone? Take a deep breath. It's a waste of time to get caught up in the tit for tat.

Was the Packers offer low? Yes. Was Grants 40 Million dollar demand juuust a little nutty? For 10 games so far? Oh yeah.

The deal will get done. The whining of the fans about Grant reminds of the Bubba Franks negotiation all over again. That deal got done eventually. And as it turned out, Franks got more than was coming to him (although it was less than he and his fans thought he was worth). At the end of the day, Thompson really does know what he is doing.

ESPN Reports -- Grant and Packers are $4 million apart over the first two years. Grant wants $8.5 mil. and the Packers are offering $4.5. Both seem to agree on a 6 year deal.

Sounds like Grant is somewhere around $5 mil guarenteed and $1.25 mil. year one and S1.75 mil. year two. The Packers are somewhere in the $2 mil guarenteed and $1 mil per year range on their offer (Total Guess).

The Packers are still offering substantially below the contract just signed by All-Pro LB Brady Poppinga. Wait a minute Poppinga isn't an All-Pro is he? The Jacques Cleauseau of negotiators is stuck on stupid. Grant's current position is probably spmewhat high. The Packers have not moved very much from their start position.
