Favre wants no trade period. He wants to play for Minnesota, thinking he can embarrass Thompson. This is his real goal and always has been. Thompson didn’t bend to Favre’s wishes and that ran counter to the treatment given him by Sherman Hence, the 12 year old Bret surfaced and here we are.

And I was so looking forward to this season. Now it’ll be a miracle if they can keep the team focused. I know Murphy can’t help. At this point he’s pretty much a figurehead. Mike Mc Carthy will be totally occupied in trying to keep the high degree of discipline his offensive and defensive schemes require and can’t be a babysitter.

Could it be we will see Bret in purple (starting in game two) ? They will never let it happen in game one for obvious reasons. Then, we’re in the hands of Goodell for whatever crumbs he decides to hand out to the Packers as compensation.
