The actual big news out of the owners conference at the Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida, (shouldn’t PackerGeeks be there in person to cover it?) is that the Packers will be playing the Vikings on Monday Night Football to open the season. It’s probably not a good thing. Aaron Rodgers was going to be facing an extraordinary amount of pressure anyway, being the first starter other than Brett Favre in nearly two decades. Now he’ll have to do it during one of the most-hyped games of the season. The upside is that if he does well in this game it’ll be a real shot to his confidence.
Also, the Packers were awarded a 4th Round compensatory pick for the loss of free agents last year. Excellent.
