Bus Cook thought Favre was coming back

Read Silverstein’s jsonline.com article here indicating Favre’s agent, as of this morning, was under impression that Favre had intended to come back.

In the article, it also mentions Favre’s apparent concern that he wasn’t wanted back. I find that talk odd. Favre should have the security with himself to know he was wanted back (though it’s hard to know what was communicated to him by the Packers). Still, I do wonder a bit if TT’s cold demeanor may be a factor in this decision. He seems so aloof and mechanical that perhaps his philosophy of giving nobody special treatment may have come back to bite him here. Favre deserves special treatment and while he should have just known he was wanted back, we can’t know for sure that TT communicated that to him (we do know McCarthy did though as he’s been quoted as telling Favre this). As a GM, I believe TT should have left zero question re where the organization stands and made it abundantly clear to Favre that he was wanted back.

Again, it’s hard to comment on this and I don’t want to prematurely assign blame when I don’t have much info, but TT may learn from this that he needs to modify his approach some as I think he may end up bearing the brunt of this devastating Packer news.

HE’S A 3-TIME MVP—-H-E-L-L-O! I WILL NO LONGER SUPPORT GB IF THEY DON’T WELCOME HIM BACK UNCONDITIONALLY! HE WILL TEACH THOSE YOUNGER PLAYERS MORE THAN ANY COACH COULD….IT’S A NO BRAINER!

TT NEEDS TO STOP ACTING LIKE A SELFISH CHILD. AS FOR AR–YOU SHOULD BE THANKFUL FOR ANOTHER YEAR TO STUDY THE BEST. ACTUALLY, I THINK AR COULD STEP FORWARD AND TALK TO TT ABOUT BEING OKAY WITH BRETT’S RETURN. YOUR ACTIONS NOW WILL BE FOREVER IN THE HISTORY BOOK.
