Greg Bedard has the highlights of McCarthy’s day-after press conference. One thing that jumped out to me, since I remember thinking the shot on Favre’s legs looked like a cheap shot, is McCarthy’s view that the hit was dirty.
UPDATE: A clarification — McCarthy did not say the Burgess hit was “dirty,” but said it was low and “unnecessary.” I think that is essentially the same thing, but I’m providing this context (and the transcript) so you can make up your own minds.
